Victoria The 2010 Annual CES Conference will be held at the Victoria Conference Centre and the Fairmont Empress Hotel in downtown Victoria. Overlooking Victoria's famous Inner Harbour, our location offers beautiful scenery and is walking distance from a wide range of shops, restaurants and attractions. Victoria is an appealing city of contrasts. As British Columbia's capital city, Victoria is large enough to be cosmopolitan and yet small enough to explore easily on foot or bicycle. A relaxed west coast lifestyle is blended with a sophisticated urban side. Victoria's old-world charm is preserved in heritage buildings, splendid formal gardens, old fashioned horse-drawn carriages, and delightful teahouses. Surrounded on three sides by water, Victoria has the mildest year-round climate in Canada. It is also easily accessible by sea and air. Each day dozens of ferries make the scenic short trip from Vancouver or Washington State. By air, flights from Vancouver take about 20 minutes and those from Seattle take about 40 minutes.
